When Henri Buthion made openings in the wall of the Belvedere, he left the outside unsupported and did not bother to brick them up in the shape of an arch. Some say he used dynamite to make the openings. Over the years the stones had started to settle and move. In February 2013, repair work started to remedy the situation.
