Chateau d'Hautpoul Plan

Photographs by Ben Hammott.

Here is the Aerial view of the d'Hautpoul Chateau compared with Henry Fatin's Plan of the Chateau.

As you can see they are a close match considering allowing for the angle the ariel photograph was taken. The dark areas indicated the most ruined part of the chateau. These areas have no roof and are open to the elements. I have added some of the photos I took in December 2006 to show their relation to the plan. The photo of the open arch was taken before it was blocked up, through the arch can be seen the ruins of an original chateau wall. As this is the ground floor plan and the Museum was on the first floor I cannot show its position on the map but it was above the 3rd room coloured orange on the left side of the plan.

I hope to gain entrance to the Chateau again on my next visit and if I am successful I hope to take some more photographs of the interior including the lower levels. They will of course be posted on my website when available.
