The double Arches linked by some to the Knights Stone found by Sauniere. One of the openings to the left or right probably lead down to a lower level, maybe the dungeons and the secret passage that are said to exist below the chateau.
This is the original cast made Mr. Fatin, laying amongst the cobwebs and clutter of his museum.
The model of the chateau standing on the tree stump is just one of the many he or his brother have made over the tears.
